Our hospital is designed to function as an extension of the services already provided by your family veterinarian. Emergency services are available when your veterinarian closes, so your pet can receive care at any time. We understand that your pet is an important part of your family and deserves the best possible medical care.
Your highly skilled veterinarian recognizes that sometimes it’s in your pet’s best interest to use the advanced services available at our hospital. Our veterinarians will work closely with yours, sharing information, as part of a team of professionals to provide optimal care. PLEASE NOTE: we don’t perform routine health procedures, nor do we stock vaccines. Your family veterinarian best provides these essential services.
Upon arrival at our hospital, an experienced veterinarian will obtain the history of your pet’s condition and perform a thorough examination. Treatment recommendations will be made, and an estimate of costs discussed with you. We will work within your budget to provide the best service possible.

You may be referred to The Animal Emergency Center for a number of reasons:
- Your pet has an emergency at a time when your regular veterinarian is not available.
- Your pet would benefit from advanced monitoring or life support provided by the sophisticated equipment in our intensive care unit. Our unit can handle dogs and cats as well as exotic mammals, birds and reptiles.
We commonly see patients after a vehicle hits them, sustain a laceration, ingest a toxin or suffer from congestive heart failure, asthma or diabetes. Emergency care involves stabilizing the patient and often includes IV fluids, oxygen, radiography and medications. Emergency surgeries and transfusions are routinely performed.
If your pet is in crisis during regular office hours, take it to your vet! We’ll take care of emergencies outside of normal hours and during holidays. If such a crisis arises, rest assured, we’re prepared to handle any pet emergency with skill and speed.
