About Oklahoma Pet Gazette

This is an independent guide to animal shelters, animal control offices, rescues and low-cost vet clinics across Oklahoma's 77 counties. It is not run by any government office, shelter or rescue, and it is not official.

How the listings work

Places are compiled from public listings and OpenStreetMap contributors, then sorted by what they do: take strays, take surrenders, adopt out, or offer low-cost care. Where we infer something rather than confirm it, it is marked estimated. Phone numbers and hours change, so call before you travel.

A Licensed stamp means the place appears on the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry list of licensed animal shelters (July 2026 edition). Its absence does not mean a place is unlicensed.

Corrections

This site has no contact form or email address yet. If a listing is wrong, please call the place and confirm with them directly, and treat what you find there as correct.

Nothing here is veterinary or legal advice. Local rules differ by city and change, and the rules table shows what we have confirmed and what we have not. The site carries no ads and no affiliate links.
